I seriously don't want to wait ~9 hours for the download when I clearly shouldn't. The launcher loads the game in parts and for some reason some of those parts can sometimes load a lot slower then others, how to speed up ffxiv download pc.
Just leave it running, it will likely speed up later once it finished a part. If I'm not mistaken, it's the launcher, it downloads slow on purpose as to avoid anything getting corrupted and what not. Unless the connection is really flaky, corruptions while downloading should be caught on another layer that the launcher doesn't even see on the TCP layer. Meaning either wrong data or if the received data is out of order wouldn't need to be checked by the downloader and thus no throttling needed.

As you see even on full load I get about 50Mbps to this PC and to the rest of the PCs in the house. So, it's not this end, the FFXIV did download, not sure on how many attempts we made but it's taken about a week and a bit off an on to achieve this; which is hardly ideal.
